Remember to breathe between bites: eating quickly could cause diabetes and obesity. In a study of more than 4,000 people, Japanese scientists have discovered that people who swallow the food are more likely to suffer from obesity and insulin resistance (two signs of future diabetes) than those who eat more slowly.
