For example, a vegetarian food may be high fat (36.5 grams of fat) when prepared in this manner:
6 ounces of tofu
3 tablespoons cashew nuts
1/2 cup broccoli
3/4 cup rice
3 tablespoons oil
It is easy to reduce the fat content of a meal just by changing some of the ingredients, such as: increasing the amount of vegetables on rice, frying in water instead of oil, and replacing the cashew nuts for nuts aquatic (water chestnuts). The result is a delicious low-fat (10.5 grams of fat):
6 ounces of tofu
1/4 cup water chestnuts
1/2 cup broccoli
1/4 cup carrots
1/4 cup green pepper
1-1/2 cups rice
